To become a firefighter in Plymouth you must pass an open competitive state exam for entry firefighter. Entry exams are held annually. Plymouth has a resident’s preference for hiring police and firefighters. The applicant must live in the town of Plymouth for 1 year prior to the exam date. Plymouth Fire Department is a career department, there are no volunteer or Call Firefighter positions.
