Plymouth Fire Department to Host Stuff-A-Bus Gift Drive for 18th Annual Toys for Tots Fundraiser

PLYMOUTH — Chief Neil Foley and the Plymouth Fire Department are pleased to share that the Plymouth Fire Department and Plymouth Firefighters Local 1768 will be hosting a Stuff-A-Bus event to benefit Toys for Tots this holiday season.

WHEN:
Beginning Friday, Dec. 6, through Sunday, Dec. 8, from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. daily

WHERE:
Walmart, 300 Colony Place Road, Plymouth

WHAT:

The Plymouth Fire Department and Plymouth Firefighters Local 1768 invite the community to stuff a bus with gifts to provide children in need with gifts of their own this holiday season.

Along with the help of First Student of Plymouth, toys are being collected to stuff a school bus to ensure there is a smile under every Christmas tree this year.

Residents are asked to contribute new, unwrapped toys for infants and children up to the age of 16. Plymouth firefighters and other volunteers will stuff the bus with donated toys.

“Our partnership with Walmart and First Student enables us to make this happen, but it’s the generosity and giving spirit that makes this giving opportunity a success,” Chief Foley said. “It’s as simple as grabbing a toy in Walmart and dropping it in the donation box, and then we transfer it to the bus. Giving children the opportunity to open a present during the holidays is a priceless experience, and the Plymouth Fire Department is proud to help pay it forward. On behalf of the department, I thank our community for their generosity.”

In addition to the drive, the Plymouth Fire Department will be accepting toy donations at Station 6 and Station 7. At Station 6, 2209 State Road in Cedarville, a collection box will be inside the station, and residents should ring the bells upon their arrival for assistance from the firefighters on duty. Toys can also be dropped off at Station 7, 15 Hedge Road in North Plymouth. All toys should be left unwrapped to ensure proper distribution for each child’s gender and age.

Monetary donations to Toys for Tots are also accepted, or donations can be made via the Toys For Tots Amazon registry.

This is the 18th year that the Fire Department and Plymouth Firefighters Local 1768 have participated in the toy drive and the seventh year they’ve hosted a Stuff-A-Bus event. Firefighter Sean Page organizes it each year.

“On behalf of the Plymouth Firefighters Union, I want to extend my gratitude to firefighter Sean Page and his dedication to ensuring that all children are able to participate in the joy of the holiday season,” President of the Plymouth Firefighters Local 1768, Brian Baragwanath, said. “Page’s commitment to giving back reflects what Plymouth Fire is all about; not just serving in times of crisis, but for every need in our community.”
